Mimi Brodar je bila doma v Špitaliču pod Menino planino. Na kmetijo P’r Makovc na Zgornjo Dobravo pri Moravčah se je primožila leta 1984. Z možem Ladom kmetujeta na sedem hektarov veliki ekološki kmetiji.
Ob vseh opravilih na mali hribovski kmetiji Mimi vsak teden peče kruh v domači krušni peči. Rokodelkam ga prinese na delavnice, zraven doda še domačo zaseko in pripravijo si odlično malico. Ob različnih praznikih pa se Mimi loti peke pletenic in košaric iz testa vseh velikosti in oblik. Najraje uporablja recept, ki ga je dobila na izobraževanju v gostinski šoli v Ljubljani.
