Deset let po koncu prve svetovne vojne so se prebivalci Leskovca pri Krškem s postavitvijo spomenika na trgu pred župnijsko cerkvijo poklonili v vojni padlim sokrajanom.
Kamniti obelisk je obdan s stebriči, na njem je vklesanih 113 imen padlih v prvi svetovni vojni. Spomenik je izdelalo kamnoseško podjetje Franjo Kunovar ml. iz Ljubljane in postavil Odbor za spomenik padlim v Leskovcu, vpet v Zvezo slovenskih vojakov svetovne vojne. Ob veliki množici ga je tedanji župnik in dekan Alojzij Kurent blagoslovil na binkoštni praznik leta 1928. Leta 1995 je bila dodana plošča z napisom, posvečena vsem izgnancem druge svetovne vojne, ki so umrli v tujini. Spomenik stoji ob cerkvi Žalostne Matere Božje.
